Tupac’s Alive! Or At Least He Is In This New Clip From The Upcoming Biopic About His Life
It’s been nearly 20 years since his unsolved murder stunned the rap community. Now, we are getting our first glimpse of Tupac Shakur as portrayed by Demetrius Ship in the upcoming biopic and it’s causing a bit of controversy amongst fans. Now, ever since Universal released the N.W.A. film, Straight Outta Compton, to rave reviews and big box office, the community has wondered if other hip-hop artists would see their stories brought to the big screen.
There’s been talk of a Compton sequel focusing on Suge Knight and the rise of Death Row Records, as well as a long-delayed biography of Tupac. In fact, the latter title has been in development long before Ice Cube even considered getting the N.W.A. film made. Now, All Eyez On Me – named after one of Pac’s classic LPs, is getting ready to be released, having recently wrapped production in Las Vegas and a sequence from the movie has turned up online.
Demetrius Ship’s Got The Look!
The scene in question recreates an impromptu press conference that occurred outside a courthouse during Pac’s infamous 1994 trial for sexual assault. It’s being viewed by director Benny Boom (a music video ace) and the crew on a video monitor. The clip is a bit cloudy, but that hasn’t stopped the flow of opinions. For some, actor Demetrius Ship is the spitting image of the rapper. On the other, his voice lacks the passion that made Pac a legend. We’ll definitely be hearing a lot more about All Eyez on Me as it prepares for a release sometime in the near future.
