Save It For A Rainy Day: These Beautiful Murals Only Appear When The Weather’s Just Right
Ever had such a gloomy day outside that you didn’t want to leave the house? Unfortunately, you still need to go to work or school, so you grab your umbrella and head out the door. You avoid walking in big puddles because you forgot your rain boots. Then, a car drives by and soaks you from head to toe. The struggle is real.
A group of designers from South Korea are trying to make your stormy days that much brighter. The team put together “Project Monsoon” where they painted the streets of Seoul with hydrochromic paint. This is a special formula that stays invisible until it gets wet.
Due to the three-week monsoon season, residents tend to stay inside and avoid the streets at all costs. Seoul’s colors disappear under the dark clouds, but with the help from Pantone, the crew changed all that. They were inspired by South Korea’s culture in order to make the streets flow like rivers, with all the animals included.
Would you want to be trapped indoors after seeing something like this? Would it freak you out a bit to know that the streets are changing colors?
You’ll be singing in the rain soon enough…
