Rafael Nadal, on Sunday, beat French man Gael Monfils to win his 9th Monte Carlo Masters title and has also equaled World No 1 Novak Djokovic by winning his 28th career Masters title.

Nadal, who has struggled for form since taking seven months out because of a knee injury, withdrew from last month's Miami Open due to a virus but won the Monte Carlo masters in grand fashion after overcoming two competitive sets with a 7-5, 5-7, 6-0 win, making it his first title of the year.
