Imagine a parallel universe where animals treated the human race the way we treat them. A world where humans are caged by birds and experimented upon by monkeys. A world where animals wear human skin in the name of fashion and display human heads as hunting trophies.

Pretty scary thought right?

Well that’s the message of this shocking series of illustrations compiled by Bored Panda that are intended to show what such a parallel universe would look like.

These illustrations feature many scenarios we can probably relate to. The only difference is, the roles of humans and animals have been reversed.

FYI – some of the illustrations are pretty gruesome, so you have been warned.

Deep Thwings Charles Franklin Thwing is a largely forgotten but impressive figure from the early twentieth century. He graduated Harvard in the 1870s, entered seminary, became a pastor in Massachusetts, then an academic, eventually ending up president of Western Reserve University. Mohamed Abrini, a key figure in the Paris attacks, on Saturday April 9, confessed to being the man in the hat seen with the suicide bombers at Brussels airport. He has been charged with "terrorist murders", Belgian prosecutors said. Another man was also charged with “terrorist murders" over the Brussels metro bombing as investigators linked more clearly than ever the militants involved in both France and Belgium’s worst ever terror outrages, claimed by ISIL. Two other men suspected of helping them were charged with complicity following raids across Brussels on Friday that netted all four. Two others arrested with Abrini were released on Saturday. "The investigating judge specialised in terrorism cases who is in charge of the investigation into the Paris attacks ... has put Mohamed Abrini in detention," the Belgian federal prosecutor’s office said.
