Auction Estimates That Tupac’s Last Vehicle Ever Purchased Will Go For A Large Sum
The twenty-year anniversary for the untimely death of Tupac Shakur is coming up on September 13th. Tupac left an incredible footprint on our society and on hip-hop. With a figure as important as Pac was to so many people, often times there are those who want to own something of theirs in order to keep them close. Also, somebody of his stature would put value in anything they touched, let alone actually owned.
Complete With The Roof Lights
This is the case with a classic Hummer H1 that the late rapper purchased less than a month before his death. The classic car marks his last vehicle purchase and with the 20th anniversary of his death right around the corner, the car is up for auction again. It had previously been purchased twice, so this will be round 3. The auction house running the item has much to say about the vehicle.
Try Denting This Thing
“Research on the vehicle reveals that Shakur purchased the vehicle on August 16, 1996, a little less than a month before his untimely death, a revelation which comfortably attributes this Hummer H1 as the very last vehicle the rapper would purchase in his lifetime.
Classy Interior
“Held in storage following Shakur’s tragic death, the Hummer was won in a 2003 raffle organized by BET in the ‘Picture Me Rollin” sweepstakes, and then later purchased back in 2007 by Havenotz Entertainment owners Sardar ‘Candyman 187’ Khan and Yaasmyn Fula, the latter being the mother of the aforementioned Kadafi, a ‘godbrother’ of Shakur who lost his own life just two months after that of his friend and fellow Outlawz rapper; the pair drove the Hummer often, cruising Los Angeles on late summer nights after time spent in the studio.
“Picture Me Rollin'”
“Already a classic and coveted example of civilian off-road ingenuity, this modified vehicle is further elevated by its incredible musical affiliation and proximity to Shakur’s final days. An incredible piece of hip-hop history that evokes the invincible spirit of one of the rap game’s true lyrical giants.”
These Things Are Beasts
It will be interesting to see how much the Hummer will go for. RR Auction estimates it will go for more than $100k. It may be a 20-year-old vehicle but it was Tupac’s 20-year-old vehicle. That makes it more of an historical artifact than anything.
